GB 18173 Polymer water-proof materials is divided into the following 4 parts. — Part 1. Water-proof sheet; — Part 2. Waterstop; — Part 3. Hydrophilic expansion rubber; — Part 4. Rubber gasket for shield-driven tunnel. This Part is Part 2 of GB 18173. This Part was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009. This Part replaces GB 18173.2-2000 Polymer water-proof materials - Part 2. Waterstop. The major differences between this Part and GB 18173.2-2000 are as follows. — MODIFY and ADD the classification method of the waterstop (SEE Section 3.1 of this Part, Section 3.1 of 2000 edition); — MODIFY the marking method of the waterstop (SEE Section 3.2 of this Part, Section 3.2 of 2000 edition); — MODIFY and ADD the schematic diagram for the waterstop structure (SEE Section 4.1 of this Part, Section 4.1 of 2000 edition); — MODIFY the requirements for the appearance quality of the waterstop (SEE Section 4.2 of this Part, Section 4.2 of 2000 edition); — ADJUST and ADD the physical property indicators of the waterstop (SEE Section 4.3 of this Part, Sections 4.3 and 4.4 of 2000 edition); — MODIFY the test method of rubber and metal adhesion properties (SEE Section 5.3.9 of this Part, Section 5.3.9 of 2000 edition); — MODIFY the group-batching and sampling of the waterstop (SEE Section 6.1.1.1 of this Part, Section 6.1.1.1 of 2000 edition); — MODIFY the inspection items of the waterstop (SEE Section 6.1.1.2 of this Part, Section 6.1.1.2 of 2000 edition); Polymer water-proof materials - Part 2. Waterstop 1 Scope This Part of GB 18173 specifies the classification and markings, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, symbols, packaging, transportation and storage of the waterstops made of polymer water-proof materials. This Part is applicable to all or part of the rubber waterstops poured in the concrete or adhered to the concrete surfaces, composite waterstops with hydrophilic expansion rubber, rubber waterstops with steel edges, and rubber waterstops and rubber composite waterstops for the pipe joints of immersed tunnels (hereinafter referred to as “waterstops”). 2 Normative references The following documents are essential to the application of this document. For dated references, only the editions with the dates indicated are applicable to this document. For undated references, only the latest editions (including all the amendments) are applicable to this document. Hydrophilic expansion rubber 3 Classification and markings 3.1 Classification 3.1.1 The waterstops can be divided into three categories according to the applications. — waterstops for deformation joints, expressed as B; — waterstops for construction joints, expressed as S; — waterstops for the pipe joints of immersed tunnels, expressed as J. 1) removable waterstops, expressed as JX; 2) compression-type waterstops, expressed as JY. 3.1.2 The waterstops can be divided into two categories according to the structure type. — ordinary waterstops, expressed as P; — composite waterstops, expressed as F. 1) composite waterstops with steel edges, expressed as FG; 2) composite waterstops with hydrophilic expansion rubber, expressed as FP; 3) composite waterstops with cord fabric, expressed as FL. 3.2 Product markings 3.2.1 Marking method MARK the products according to the following sequence. 9 Rubber and metal adhesion b Damage in rubber materials - - 5.3.9 10 Rubber and cord fabric adhesive strength c / (N/mm) ≥ - 5 - 5.3.10 The hydrophilic expansion rubber in the composite waterstops with hydrophilic expansion rubber shall conform to the provisions of GB/T 18173.3. Note. If there are other special demands, it is allowed to appropriately add inspection items after consultation between supplier and demander. a This rubber hardness range is recommended, which is used in the design of Type JY waterstops for different immersed tunnel projects for reference. b The item “rubber and metal adhesion” is only applicable to composite waterstops with steel edges. c The item “rubber and cord fabric adhesion” is only applicable to Type JX composite waterstops with cord fabric. 4.3.2 The indicator of the tensile strength at the joints of the waterstop shall not be less than 80% of the specified value in Table 3 (except the site construction joints). 5 Test methods 5.1 Dimensional tolerances USE a measuring tool to measure the specifications. The thickness and width shall be respectively accurate to 0.05mm and 1mm. TAKE 1m of product at random as sample (for the waterstop processed by molding vulcanization, at least one joint shall be included). TAKE four points in the symmetrical position on the product surface from both ends for measurement. TAKE the arithmetic mean value of the results. 5.2 Appearance quality USE visual observation and corresponding measuring tool for appearance quality inspection. 5.3 Physical properties 5.3.1 Test piece preparation and conditioning CUT an enough length of product passing the specification and appearance quality inspections as required by the test. CONDUCT the test piece preparation according to the provisions of GB/T 2941. PLACE the test pieces in standard status for 24h. CONDUCT the test according to the requirements of Table 3. 5.3.2 Hardness 6.1.2 Type inspection All the technical requirements for type inspection items are listed in this Part. CONDUCT the type inspection under one of the following circumstances. a) During the trial production and pattern evaluation for the production after plant transfer of new or old products; b) During official production, CONDUCT the inspection once a year; c) After official production, when there are major changes in structure, design, process, materials, manufacturing equipment and management of the products; d) When resuming production after stopping production for more than six months; e) When there are major differences between the exit-factory inspection results and the last type inspection results; f) When the national quality supervision and inspection agency requires the type inspection. 6.1.3 Periodic inspection Under normal circumstance, CONDUCT the ozone ageing inspection at least once a year. CONDUCT the brittle temperature inspection at least once every six months. For the compression set, hot air ageing, rubber and metal adhesion properties (only applicable to Type FG composite waterstops with steel edges) and rubber and cord fabric adhesion strength (only applicable to Type JX composite waterstops with cord fabric), CONDUCT the inspections once every quarter. 6.2 Determination rules 6.2.1 If the dimensional tolerances, appearance quality and various physical property indicators of rubber materials comply with the technical requirements, the products will be determined as conforming. 6.2.2 If the dimensional tolerances or appearance quality is unqualified, the products will be determined as non-conforming. 6.2.3 If any one of the physical property indicators of rubber materials fails to comply with the technical requirements, DOUBLE the test pieces from the same batch of products for re-inspection. If the re-inspection results are still unqualified, DETERMINE this batch of products as non-conforming. ......
