Foreword
All text of this Standard is mandatory.
This Standard was drafted as per the rules specified in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This Standard replaces GB 17930-2011 Gasoline for Motor Vehicles.
Compared with GB 17930-2011, and its No. 1 amendment; this Standard mainly has
the following technical changes.
--- Add “Warning” contents on the first page of text;
--- Modify Chapter 4 Product Classification into. gasoline for motor vehicles (III)
and (IV) are divided by the Research Octane Number to be three designations,
namely, No. 90, No. 93, and No. 97; while gasoline for motor vehicles (V) is
divided by the Research Octane Number to be four designations, namely, No.89,
No. 92, No. 95 and No. 98 (see Chapter 4 of this Edition; Chapter 4 in Edition
2011);
--- Modify Clause 5.1 into. gasoline for motor vehicles used additive shall have no
recognized harmful effects, and use recommended appropriated dosage.
Gasoline for motor vehicles shall contain no additives and contaminants that
may cause the abnormal operation of the vehicles. Gasoline for motor vehicles
shall not be artificially added with compounds, such as methylal, aniline,
halogen, phosphorus, silicon containing, and etc. (see Clause 5.1 of this Edition;
Clause 5.1 in No.1 amendment of GB 17930-2011);
--- Modify Clause 5.2 into. technical requirements and test methods of gasoline for
motor vehicles (III) and (IV) can refer to Table 1 and 2 respectively (see Clause
5.2 of this Edition);
--- Add Clause 5.3. technical requirements and test methods of No. 89, No.92, and
No.95 gasoline for motor vehicles (V) can refer to Table 3. When the enterprise
is able to manufacture or sell No.98 gasoline for vehicle (V), its technical
requirements shall conform to Annex A (see Annex A of this Edition);
--- Add Table 3 Technical Requirements and Test Methods of Gasoline for Motor
Vehicles (V) (see Table 3 of this Edition);
--- Modify Clause 7.1 into. oiling machines and container sold to the users, and
conformed to this Standard shall be marked with the following marks. “No.90
gasoline (III)”, “No.93 gasoline (III)”, “No.97 gasoline (III)”, “No.90 gasoline (IV)”,
“No.93 gasoline (IV)”, “No.97 gasoline (IV)”, “No.89 gasoline (V)”, “No.92
gasoline (V)”, “No.95 gasoline (V)”, or “No.98 gasoline (V)”; the above marks
shall be marked on the visible position for the vehicle driver (See Clause 7.1 of
Gasoline for Motor Vehicles
Warning. If the users do not comply with proper precautions, the products
mentioned in this Standard may be dangerous during the manufacturing,
transporting, loading-unloading, storage, and using processes. This Standard
is not intended to propose suggestions against all the safety issues related to
the products. Before using this Standard, users are responsible for establishing
proper safety and preventive measures, and determining the adaptability of
relevant regulatory limitations.
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the terms and definitions, product classification, requirements
and test methods, sampling, marking, package, transportation, storage, safety of
gasoline for motor vehicles; and the implementation of the standard.
This Standard is applicable to gasoline for motor vehicles that is consisted of liquid
hydrocarbons or liquid hydrocarbons and additives improving the performance.
