1 Scope
This Standard specifies the classification and labeling, order content, size, shape, weight,
technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking and quality
certificate of precision steel strip for retractor spring of vehicle safety-belts.
This Standard is applicable to the manufacture of precision steel strip for retractor spring of
vehicle safety-belts (hereinafter referred to as steel strip); and other similar uses can also refer
to this Standard.

3 Classification and Labelling
3.1 Classification
7 Test Methods
7.1 The chemical composition of the steel strip is usually accepted by checking the original
quality certificate of the steel mill.
7.2 The inspection items and test methods of the steel strip shall comply with the provisions of
Table 6.
7.3 The thickness of the steel strip shall be measured by a micrometer with an accuracy of 0.001
mm; and the thickness shall be measured at the center of the width of the steel strip.
7.4 The width of the steel strip shall be measured by a caliper with an accuracy of 0.01 mm.
7.5 During the tensile test of the steel strip, the width of the specimen shall be equal to the width
of the steel strip; and shall be taken along the rolling direction of the steel strip.
8 Inspection Rules
8.1 The quality of the steel strip shall be checked and accepted by the quality inspection
department of the supplier.
8.2 The steel strip shall be accepted in batches. Each batch shall be composed of individually
packaged steel strips with the same designation and specification.
8.3 The sampling quantity, sampling location and sampling method of the steel strip shall
comply with the provisions of Table 6.
8.4 The reinspection and judging rules of the steel strip shall comply with the provisions of
GB/T 17505.
8.5 The rounding-off rules of numerical values shall comply with the provisions of YB/T 081.
