1 Scope

This document specifies the communication rules and requirements between battery swapping vehicles and battery packs for battery electric passenger vehicles. This document is applicable to the communication between electric vehicle and battery pack in the on-board battery swap system of battery electric passenger vehicles.

3 Terms and Definitions

The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 19596, and the following are applicable to this document. 3.1 battery management system; BMS A system that monitors the status of the battery (temperature, voltage and state of charge, etc.), can provide communication, security, battery cell balancing and management control for the battery, and provide communication interface with application equipment. 3.2 frame A series of data bits that constitute a complete message. 3.3 messages One or multiple “CAN/CANFD data frames” with the same parameter group number. 3.4 available energy The energy that can be released from the current battery under specific discharge conditions. 3.5 insulation resistance The equivalent resistance value of the high-voltage system to ground. 3.6 electronic control unit; ECU An on-board computer composed of a microcomputer and peripheral circuits. 3.7 diagnostic trouble code; DTC A 4-byte value used to identity the type of fault, associated fault mode and the number of occurrences. 3.8 unified diagnostic services; UDS ECU controllers with diagnostic functions implement unified diagnostic service standards.

4 General Principles

4.1 The communication network between electric vehicle and BMS of the replaceable battery pack shall adopt CAN2.0B / CAN FD / wireless communication protocol. 4.2 The communication between electric vehicle and BMS of the replaceable battery pack shall satisfy the UDS diagnostic protocol. 4.3 The BMS of the replaceable battery pack shall monitor and report the high-voltage insulation resistance. 4.4 The BMS of the replaceable battery pack shall monitor and report the high-voltage interlock status. 4.5 The BMS of the replaceable battery pack with battery thermal management function shall implement temperature monitoring of the battery cooling interface. 4.6 Diagnostic services shall refer to ISO 14229 and ISO 15765.
