1 Scope
This Document specifies the classification and marking, requirements, test methods, result
calculations, test reports and inspection rules of indoor air purification coatings.
This Document applies to indoor air purification coatings.
2 Normative References
The provisions in following documents become the essential provisions of this Document
through reference in this Document. For the dated documents, only the versions with the dates
indicated are applicable to this Document; for the undated documents, only the latest version
(including all the amendments) is applicable to this Document.

3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this Document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1 Air purification
The behavior of reducing the target pollutants in indoor air that affect human health and making
the air clean.
3.2 Air purification coating
The coating that can reduce or remove one or more targeted pollutants from indoor air.
3.3 Purificatory efficiency
Under the specified test conditions, the ability of the coating to reduce the concentration of
formaldehyde (or toluene) in the cabin.
3.4 Purification durability
Under the specified test conditions, after the indoor air purification coating is applied several
times with the specified concentration of formaldehyde (or toluene) within the specified period
(or time), the ability of the material��s continuous purification against the target pollutant.
4 Classification and Marking
4.1 Classification
4.1.1 Products are divided into interior decoration (Class I) and treatment (Class II) according
to their uses; Class I is further divided into water-based liquid coatings (IS) and powder
inorganic coatings (IF)according to the coating form.
4.2 Marking
Products shall be marked in order of product name, document number, coating category, and
purification principle.
5 Requirements
The indoor air purification coatings should meet the requirements in Table 1 for the purificatory
performance against certain target pollutants.
6 Test Methods
6.1 Test environmental conditions
6.1.1 The laboratory environment is. Temperature (23 �� 2) ��C, relative humidity (50 �� 10) %,
formaldehyde concentration is less than or equal to 0.02mg/m3, toluene concentration is less
than or equal to 0.02 mg/m3.
6.1.2 The environment of the test chamber is. Temperature (25 �� 1) ��C, relative humidity (50 ��
5) %, formaldehyde concentration is less than or equal to 0.02 mg/m3, and toluene concentration
is less than or equal to 0.02 mg/m3.
6.2 Test instruments and reagents
6.2.1 Test chamber system. See Appendix A.
6.2.2 Electronic balance. Accuracy of 0.01 g.
6.2.3 Micro-syringe. Volume range 5��L, division value 0.1��L.
6.2.4 Pollution source reagents. 37%~40% formaldehyde solution (analytical pure); toluene
(analytical pure).
6.3 Gas collection and analysis
6.3.1 The collection and concentration analysis of formaldehyde gas shall be carried out in
accordance with the methods specified in GB/T 16129.
6.3.2 The collection and concentration analysis of toluene gas shall be carried out according to
the method specified in GB/T 18883.
6.4 Sampling
The product shall be sampled according to the method stipulated in GB/T 3186, and the
sampling volume shall be determined according to the test requirements.
6.5 Test substrate
Use a glass plate with a size of 500 mm �� 500 mm, and its surface treatment shall be carried
out in accordance with the method specified in GB/T 9271.
6.6 Preparation of test sample plate
6.7 Purificatory efficiency
6.7.1 See Appendix B for the test method of purificatory efficiency of coatings with non-
photocatalytic air purification.
6.7.2 See Appendix C for the test method of the purificatory efficiency of coatings with
photocatalytic air purification.
6.8 Purification durability
6.8.1 See Appendix B for the test method of purification durability of coatings with non-
photocatalytic air purification.
6.8.2 See Appendix C for the test method of purification durability of coatings with
photocatalytic air purification.
7 Calculation of Results
7.1.1 See Appendix B for the calculation of the purificatory efficiency and purification
durability of coatings with non-photocatalytic air purification.
7.1.2 See Appendix C for the calculation of the purificatory efficiency and purification
durability of coatings with photocatalytic air purification.
8 Test Report
The test report shall include the following.
a) The name, type, proportion, coating amount, manufacturer or sample sending
organization, and test date of the sample;
b) Test conditions, including lab and test cabin temperature, relative humidity and other
sampling environmental conditions;
c) For samples of coatings with non-photocatalytic air purification, indicating the target
pollutant type, purificatory efficiency, purification durability and test cycle times;
9 Inspection Rules
9.1 Inspection requirements
9.1.1 The inspection items in Clause 5 are all type inspection items.
9.1.2 In one of the following situations, type inspection shall be carried out.

Samples shall be randomly selected from the product; and the product shall be sampled
according to GB/T 3186.
9.3 Judgment
When the inspection results meet all the technical requirements of this Document, this batch of
products is judged to be qualified.
Appendix A
(Normative)
Test Cabin System
A.1 Overview
This Appendix specifies the composition, structure and configuration requirements of the
standard test system used in the purificatory performance test of indoor air purification coatings.
A.3 Schematic diagram of test system
A.3.1 The schematic diagram of the test system is shown in Figure A.1.
A.4 Verification of effectiveness of test system
A.4.1 Calibration of conventional parameters. Calibrate according to the parameters listed in
Table A.1.
A.4.2 Attenuation requirements for the concentration of target pollutants in a single test cabin.
Under the test environment conditions specified in 6.1, the test cabin is sealed. Take
formaldehyde (or toluene) gas as the target pollutant; pipette (3��0.1) ��L pollutant with a 5��L
micro-syringe, inject it into the gas generator; turn on the gas generator and stirring fan; and
start timing. Turn off the gas generator and stirring fan after 2h; and collect and analyze the
target pollutant concentration at the same time. After the collection is completed, continue to
turn on the stirring fan for 24h; collect the gas in the cabin and test the concentration of target
pollutants; and turn off the fan when collecting the gas. If the formaldehyde decay rate RC��25%
(or toluene decay rate RC6��20%), the calibrated test cabin is qualified. The attenuation rate R
is calculated according to the Formula (A.1).
A.4.4 Effectiveness verification should be carried out once a month, and the attenuation rate of
the contrast cabins shall be tested every time.
A.4.5 After each test, the residue in the cabin shall be cleaned. Before each sample is tested, the
background concentration in the cabin shall be tested according to 6.3.If the concentration does
not meet the requirements, it shall be cleaned again until the concentration meets 6.1.2.
