3 Ordering requirements
3.1 The supplier and the purchaser shall specify the name of the casting, implementation
standard, material designation, order quantity and supply status in the order contract
and order agreement.
3.2 The ordering party must provide the supplier with the order drawing and indicate
the product size, tolerance, surface roughness and test items, etc.
3.4 When inquiring and placing orders, the supplier and the purchaser negotiate to
determine the mold line detection method, which can refer to GB/T 10969-1996, but
the impact of grinding and machining allowance on the casting blank shall be
considered.
4 Technical requirements
4.1 Manufacturing process
4.1.1 Smelting
When inquiring and placing orders, the supplier and purchaser shall negotiate and
determine whether to use one of the methods such as medium frequency furnace,
electric arc furnace, refining, etc. or a combination of methods for smelting. If the
ordering party has no special requirements, the supplier can decide on his own.
4.2 Chemical composition
The chemical composition shall be in accordance with GB/T 2100-2002, GB/T 6967-
1986, GB/T 11352-1989 and shall conform to the requirements of Table 1.When other
material designations are selected, they shall be in accordance with the order contract
between the supplier and the purchaser.
4.3 Mechanical properties
Mechanical properties shall be in accordance with GB/T 2100-2002, GB/T 6967-1986,
GB/T 11352-1989 and shall comply with the requirements of Table 2.When other
material designations are selected, they shall be implemented in accordance with the
order contract between the supplier and the purchaser.
4.4 Casting defects and welding repairs
4.4.3 Welding repair of castings
4.4.3.1 The welding rods used for welding repair shall be made of the same material as
the casting or have a composition similar to that of the casting. If the ordering party has
special requirements, the supplier and the purchaser shall negotiate and determine them
during the inquiry and ordering process.
4.4.3.4 When the ordering party has special requirements for major defects, the terms
agreed upon by the supplier and the purchaser shall prevail.
4.5 Casting surface quality
4.5.1 General requirements
4.5.1.1 There shall be no flash, burrs, or sand on the surface of the casting.
4.5.4.5 The deviation of the pitch circle diameter of the runner is ±0.20%D1.
4.5.4.6 The classification for Pelton wheel castings shall be implemented in accordance
with Table 8.
5 Inspection rules
5.1 Chemical composition analysis
5.1.1 The sampling and analysis methods for chemical composition analysis shall be
carried out in accordance with GB/T 222-1984 and GB/T 223.The arbitration analysis
of chemical composition shall be carried out in accordance with GB/T 223.
5.2 Mechanical properties inspection
5.2.1 Mechanical properties specimens and test methods shall be in accordance with
GB/T 228-2002, GB/T 229-1984, GB/T 231-1984 and GB/T 6397-1986.
5.2.2 Test blocks
5.2.2.1 The test blocks may be cast separately or attached to the main casting, but shall
be cast from the same heat of steel. They shall be heat treated in a production heat
treatment furnace in the same manner as the castings they represent.
5.2.3 Reinspection
If the mechanical properties test result is unqualified, the same state of the specimen
shall be taken, the number shall be doubled, and the test shall be repeated. If it is still
unqualified, the casting and the spare sample shall be reheat-treated.
5.3 Nondestructive testing
5.3.1 General methods, standards and areas of nondestructive testing
5.3.1.1 Magnetic particle inspection
5.3.1.2 Penetrant testing
5.3.1.3 Ultrasonic flaw detection
5.3.1.4 Radiographic inspection
5.3.2 When inquiring and placing orders, if the ordering party has non-destructive
testing requirements, non-destructive testing shall be carried out on castings according
to the ordering party's requirements. But the testing location, testing method, area,
standard and level shall be specified. The different situations such as blank, rough
processing and fine processing shall be distinguished. Among them, the blank casting
testing requires grinding or processing the corresponding testing parts to achieve the
surface roughness required by the testing.
6 Reinspection
6.1 The ordering party has the right to re-inspect the supplied castings. The reinspection
items are the same as the inspection items in the ordering contract.
6.2 If the mechanical properties are unqualified, double the specimen shall be taken for
retest. If the retest is unqualified, the test block is allowed to be heat treated in the same
furnace as the casting and retested.
7 Quality certificate
When delivering the goods, the supplier shall provide the ordering party with a quality
certificate. According to the order contract, the quality certificate generally includes all
or part of the following contents.
8 Marking, packaging and transportation
8.1 The castings shall have the following markings. order contract number, drawing
number, furnace number and supplier's factory (company) name.
