GB/T 3871 "Agricultural tractors - Test procedures" is divided into 19 parts: - Part 1: General requirements; - Part 2: Measurements of tractor parameters; - Part 3: PTO power tests; - Part 4: Hydraulic lifting capacity and power tests; - Part 5: Turning and clearance diameters; - Part 6: Determination of braking performance; - Part 7: Operators field of vision; - Part 8: Noise measurement; - Part 9: Drawbar power tests; - Part 10: Low temperature starting; - Part 11: Suitability tests for hot atmosphere; - Part 12: Working tests; - Part 13: Measurement of exhaust smoke; - Part 14: Partial power PTO - Non-mechanically transmitted power; - Part 15: Centre of gravity; - Part 16: Axle power determination; - Part 17: Engine air cleaner; - Part 18: Hydraulic power at tractor/implement interface; - Part 19: Steering capability of wheeled tractors. This part is Part 6 of GB/T 3871. This part is equivalent to ISO 5697:1982 "Agricultural and forestry vehicles - Determination of braking performance" (English version). For ease of use, this part has made the following editorial changes: - CHANGE the term "this International Standard" into "this Part"; - USE a decimal point "." to replace the comma ",", which was used as a decimal point; - DELETE the foreword of the international standard; - MODIFY the drawings in the standard, according to China’s drawing habits. This part replaces GB/T 3871.6-1993 "Test methods for agricultural wheeled and tracking tractors - Part 6: Braking tests". In addition to editorial changes during the revision, the main changes in this part, as compared with GB/T 3871.6-1993, are as follows: - CHANGE the name of the standard from "Test methods for agricultural wheeled and tracking tractors" to "Agricultural tractor - Test procedures"; - ADD the terms and definitions of nouns; - REFER to the latest version of the standard, in the normative references; - ADD the test method for vehicles, which have speeds exceeding 35 km/h; - ADD the Appendix A and Appendix B; - ADD the test content of Recovery test - Category 3, Attenuation test - Category 2, Recovery test - Category 3 for optional items; - ADD the braking performance test methods for trailers and tractor units. Appendix A and Appendix B of this Part are normative appendixes. This part was proposed by China Machinery Industry Federation. This part shall be under the jurisdiction of the National Tractor Standardization Technical Committee. Drafting organizations of this Part: Agricultural Machinery Testing and Appraisal Station of the Ministry of Agriculture, National Tractor Quality Supervision and Inspection Center, Luoyang Tractor Research Institute. The main drafters of this Part: Jiao Gang, Li Jingzhong, Xu Zhijian, Lang Zhizhong, Shang Xiangsheng, Shi Guoquan. 1 Scope

This Part of GB/T 3871 specifies the test methods, for the braking performance of agricultural tractors, self-propelled agricultural vehicles, trailers, traction agricultural machinery. This Part applies to agricultural tractors, self-propelled agricultural vehicles, trailers, traction agricultural machinery.

2 Normative references

The provisions in following documents become the provisions of this Part through reference in this Part of GB/T 3871. For the dated references, the subsequent amendments (excluding corrections) or revisions do not apply to this Part; however, parties who reach an agreement based on this Part are encouraged to study if the latest versions of these documents are applicable. 3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this Part of GB/T 3871. 3.1 Agricultural tractor A self-propelled wheeled or crawler machine, which has at least two shafts.
