Make-up Accessories – Powder Puff
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the terms and definitions, classification, requirements, test
methods, inspection rules and marking, package, transportation, storage and shelf life
requirements for the make-up accessories of powder puff.
This Standard is applicable to the powder puff for the cosmetics; including the sponge-
like and non-sponge-like powder puff.

The following documents are essential to the application of this document. For the

3 Terms and Definitions
For the purpose of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1 Sponge-like powder puff
The powder puff product, with certain shape, applying for the cosmetics, made of
porous elastic material such as polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), polyurethane (PU), and latex
through corresponding or specific process.
3.2 Non-sponge-like powder puff
The power puff product, with certain shape, applying for the cosmetics, made of cotton,
plush, velvet, etc., decorated by ribbon, leather, and the like materials, lined by
sponges, through anti-mold, antibacterial, sewing and the like corresponding or
specific processes.
6.2.4 Shedding test
6.2.4.1 Test materials
3M1) transparent ordinary tape with specification of 48mm×50m.
6.2.4.2 Test method
Apply the tape to the use surface of the powder puff; quickly peel off for 3 times to
confirm whether there is a whole-block falling off.
6.3 Microbial indicators
Take 5g of powder puff; place into 45g of normal saline solution; use the glass rod to
press for 10 times and soak for 5 minutes; then take out the powder puff; finally, inspect
the soaked normal saline solution by the microbial test method specified in Safety
Technical Specification for Cosmetics (2015 Edition).
6.4 Package appearance
It shall be carried out as per the QB/T 1685.
7 Inspection Rules
It shall be carried out as per QB/T 1684. Thereof, the following items belongs to the
type inspection items, such as heat-resistant coliform, staphylococcus aureus, and
pseudomonas aeruginosa.
8 Marking, Package, Transportation, Storage and Shelf
Life
8.1 Marking of sales package
The sales package shall have at least the following markings:
a) Product name;
b) Name and address of the responsible person;
c) Product implementation standard number (product for sold separately);
