1 Scope

This standard defines the common terms and definitions of the functional devices and performance of high-pressure die casting units. This standard applies to die casting units, for high-pressure casting.

2 Terms and definitions

2.1 Functional device 2.1.1 Basic terminology 2.1.1.1 Die casting The process, in which molten metal is press-injected into the mold AND kept under high pressure, until it is completely solidified. 2.1.1.2 Die casting machine A power machine, that press-injects molten metal into a reusable mold, at high pressure and high speed. 2.1.1.5 Casting The metal part or part blank, with a certain shape, size, performance The, which is obtained by casting the molten metal into a mold AND solidifying it. 2.1.2 Thermal insulation and pouring device 2.1.4.3 Spray head A device, that disperses the parting agent into tiny droplets, through a nozzle or high-speed airflow. 2.1.5 Die temperature control device 2.1.5.1 Die temperature control devices A device, that effectively controls the die temperature, through medium circulation and self-adjustment within a certain range, according to the setting. 2.1.6 Cleaning and rectification equipment 2.1.6.1 Cleaning and rectification devices A device, which is used for removing product's casting systems, overflow systems, burrs, AND shaping products. 2.1.7 Insert device 2.1.7.1 Automatic insert The process of sending the insert into the specified position of the die. 2.1.7.2 Inserts fixture The mechanical structure, which clamps the insert. 2.1.7.3 Inserts feeding A device, that conveys the inserts to a specific location. 2.1.7.4 Inserts heating device A device, which is composed of heating elements and accessories, for heating the inserts. 2.1.8 Detection device 2.1.8.1 Inspection equipment An equipment, which performs testing on the appearance, integrity, size and other characteristics of castings. 2.1.8.2 Inspection of casting integrity The behavior of real-time feedback, when finding defects, during the inspection of the integrity of casting. 2.1.9 System security device 2.1.9.1 System security device A device, which is used to protect the safety of equipment, personnel, processes, in the production process of the die casting unit. 2.1.9.2 Alarm unit A device, which has audible and (or) visual output, to indicate that the equipment or control system is abnormal or exceeds the limit state. 2.1.9.3 Interlocking device A mechanical, electrical or other type of device, which is used to prevent dangerous machine functions from operating, under certain conditions (usually as long as the protective device is not closed). [GB/T 15706-2012, definition 3.28.1] 2.1.10 Filtration device 2.1.10.1 Filtration device A device, which is used to collect and process the oil mist, oil fume, waste water, dust particles, as produced by the die casting unit. 2.1.11 Integrated control device 2.1.11.1 Integrated control system All the control devices and programs, which are needed to realize the process flow of the die casting unit. 2.1.11.2 Data acquisition Data collection, which is carried out for the purpose of process monitoring and report generation. At different points of time, a user waits for other users to send out some data it expects. [GB/T 15969.5-2002, definition 3.6] 2.1.11.4 Field bus A digital, two-way transmission, multi-branch structure communication network, that connects intelligent field devices and automation systems. 2.1.12 Vacuum device 2.1.12.1 Vacuum device A device, that quickly draws the gas in the cavity, to a predetermined degree of vacuum. 2.1.13 Marking machine 2.1.13.1 Marking machine A device, which is used for marking bar codes, characters, patterns, etc. on the surface of castings. 2.1.14 Others 2.1.14.1 Cooling device; casting cooling A device, that reduces the temperature of the casting to the temperature, which is required by the process. 2.2 Performance 2.2.1 Die casting machine 2.2.1.1 Most metal shot weight The maximum mass of molten metal, that can be casted into the injection chamber, at one time. [GB/T 21269-2018, definition 3.6] 2.2.1.2 Intensification The use of accumulators, which have differential piston area or higher pressure, to make the fluid pressure in the injection cylinder higher than the system pressure. [GB/T 21269-2018, definition 3.16] 2.2.1.3 Injection pressure, displacement-time curve The curve, which reflects the relationship between injection pressure, injection punch displacement and time, as shown in Figure 2. [GB/T 21269-2018, definition 3.18] 2.2.1.5 Fast injection The process, in which the injection punch quickly fills the cavity with liquid metal, after the completion of slow injection. Pressure MPa Time / ms [GB/T 21269-2018, definition 3.19] 2.2.1.6 Slow injection speed The average speed of the injection punch, during slow injection. [GB/T 21269-2018, definition 3.20] 2.2.1.10 Intensification time After the movement of the injection punch stops, the time interval, FROM the point when the pressure curve reaches the stationarity value of the working pressure of hydraulic system (see p3 in Figure 2), TO the end point of the set pressure time; see t5 in Figure 2. 2.2.1.11 Fast injection working pressure In a hydraulic system, which has an accumulator, the set pressure of the fast injection accumulator. 2.2.1.12 Intensification pressure stationarity value After the injection piston stops moving, the injection pressure which is set to elapse 200 ms. 2.2.2 Melt insulation and pouring device 2.2.3.1 Max load of extracting device The maximum mass of die castings, which can be reliably taken out. 2.2.3.2 Accuracy of extracting device The deviation BETWEEN the set position of the extractor AND the actual position. 2.2.3.3 Minimum extract time The shortest time, which is starting from the extractor position, taking out the casting, conveying to the extractor position. 2.2.4 Spraying device 2.2.4.1 Spray quantity The volume of parting agent, which is sprayed per unit time. 2.2.4.2 Accuracy of spray device The deviation, BETWEEN the spraying setting position AND the actual position. 2.2.4.3 Spray cycle time The time, FROM the start of spraying TO the end of spraying and returning to the original position. 2.2.5 Die temperature control device 2.2.6 Detection device 2.2.6.1 Specified requirement Expressed needs or expectations. 2.2.7 System safety device 2.2.7.1 Redundancy The product has more than one means to perform the same prescribed function. 2.2.7.2 Reliability The ability of a machine, its parts or devices, to perform a specified function, under specified conditions AND within a specified time interval. 2.2.8 Integrated control device 2.2.8.1 Storage capacity The capacity of user program memory. 2.2.8.2 Extensibility The extent to which the number of system I/O points, storage capacity, networking functions, various functional modules can be expanded. 2.2.8.3 Scanning speed The speed at which the application is executed. 2.2.9 Vacuum device 2.2.9.1 Pumping rate The ability of a vacuum pump, to pump-drain gas per unit time, under its working pressure. 2.2.9.3 Vacuum pressure The degree of gas thinning under vacuum. 2.2.10 Others ......
