1 Scope
This standard specifies the marking, type and size, requirements, test methods,
inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of welded wire fabric
coated with zine (hereinafter referred to as welded wire fabric).
This standard applies to welded wire fabric used in construction, planting, breeding,
machine protection covers, fences, poultry cages, egg baskets, transportation, mining
and other purposes.
2 Normative references
The following documents are essential to the application of this document. For the dated
documents, only the versions with the dates indicated are applicable to this document;
for the undated documents, only the latest version (including all the amendments) is
applicable to this standard.

3 Marking
3.1 Product marking

Wire diameter × Warp mesh length × Weft mesh length
color shall be consistent; there shall be no defects of exposed iron.
5.8.2 The number of zinc particles on the welded mesh surface shall not exceed 5% of
the number of mesh apertures; the maximum zinc particles shall not exceed 10% of the
wire diameter.
5.9 Surface coating
5.9.1 The mass of the zinc coating of the welded mesh shall be greater than 140 g/m2.
5.9.2 The zinc coating shall be uniform; the number of copper sulfate immersion tests
shall be no less than two. The immersion time for wires with a diameter greater than 1
mm is 60 s; the immersion time for wires with a diameter less than 1 mm is 30 s.
5.10 Rolling rate
The welded mesh is allowed to be assembled from two segments. The length of the
shorter segment shall not be less than 5 m; each roll of the welded mesh shall be at least
300 mm longer; the rolling rate shall not exceed 5%.
6 Test method
6.1 Materials
The supplier shall provide a quality guarantee. In case of dispute, the relevant standards
shall be used for testing.
6.2 Size, mesh deviation, rolling rate of welded mesh
6.2.1 Length and width of welded mesh: Unfold the mesh on a flat surface and measure
with a steel tape measure which has a reading of 1 mm.
6.2.2 Mesh deviation: Unfold the mesh on a flat surface and measure the number of
mesh holes within 305 mm (see Table 5) with a steel ruler which has a reading of 1 mm.
In case of dispute, a vernier caliper with a reading of 0.02 mm may be used for
measurement.
6.2.3 Wire diameter: Use a micrometer with a reading of 0.01 mm to measure 3 warp
and weft wires (except for zinc particles) at random; take the average value.
6.2.4 Length of exposed mesh edge: Use a vernier caliper with a reading of 0.02 mm to
6.7 Appearance
6.7.1 Visual inspection is used to inspect the flatness of the welded mesh surface, mesh
uniformity, color, and exposed iron defects.
6.7.2 Take any length of 1 m on the mesh surface; measure it with a vernier caliper with
a reading of 0.02 mm. Take the difference between the measured value and the wire
diameter; conduct zinc particle detection (see 5.8.2).
6.8 Surface coating
6.8.1 The quality of the zinc coating shall be tested in accordance with the relevant
provisions of GB/T 1839-2008.
6.8.2 The copper sulfate test of the zinc coating shall be carried out in accordance with
the relevant provisions of GB/T 2972.
7 Inspection rules
7.1 Product inspection is divided into exit-factory inspection and type inspection.
7.2 Products must be accepted by the inspection department of the manufacturer before
they can be shipped. The recipient has the right to re-inspect the delivery batch. Exit-
factory inspection shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 2828.1,
using the special inspection level S-1 and five-time sampling plan.
Exit-factory inspection items, unqualified categories, acceptance quality level (AQL)
shall be as specified in Table 6.
7.3 Type inspection shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 2829,
using the discrimination level III and one-time sampling plan.
