Praseodymium-neodymium metal
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules,
marks, packaging, transportation, storage and quality certificates of praseodymium-
neodymium metal.
This Standard applies to the praseodymium-neodymium metal, that uses praseodymium
neodymium oxide as the raw material, is produced by the molten salt electrolysis
method and is used as magnetic materials.

3 Technical requirements
3.1 Product classification
The products are divided into six designations according to chemical composition:
PrNd-80NdA, PrNd-80NdB, PrNd-75NdA, PrNd-75NdB, PrNd-70NdA, PrNd-70NdB.
The method of product designation representation shall comply with the provisions of
GB/T 17803.
3.2 Chemical composition
4.1.1 The analysis method of the total amount of rare earth (RE) is carried out according
to the provisions of GB/T 14635. When the total amount of rare earths is more than
99%, the actual value of the total amount of rare earths is calculated by subtraction,
namely (100%-Σ non-rare earth impurities).
4.1.2 The analytical methods of praseodymium, neodymium and rare earth impurities
are carried out according to the provisions of GB/T 26417.
4.1.3 The analytical methods for non-rare earth impurities are carried out in accordance
with the provisions of GB/T 12690 (all parts).
4.2 Numerical rounding
The rounding of numerical values is carried out in accordance with the provisions of
GB/T 8170.
4.3 Appearance quality
Conduct visual inspection under natural scattered light.
5 Inspection rules
5.1 Inspection and acceptance
5.1.1 The product is inspected by the supplier's quality inspection department to ensure
that the product quality meets the requirements of this Standard, and a quality certificate
is filled out.
5.1.2 The purchaser shall inspect the received products in accordance with the
provisions of this Standard. If the inspection results are inconsistent with the provisions
of this Standard, it shall be submitted to the supplier within 2 months from the date of
receipt of the product. The supplier and the purchaser shall negotiate and resolve. If
arbitration is required, an organization recognized by both parties can be entrusted to
carry out the arbitration. Sampling shall be performed jointly at the purchaser’s.
5.2 Batch
Products shall be submitted for inspection in batches. Each batch shall consist of
products of the same designation.
5.3 Inspection items
Each batch of products shall be inspected for chemical composition and appearance
quality.
