--- Part 7.Requirements for special installations or locations.
This Part is Part 5.Part 5-51 in selection and erection of electrical equipment.
This Part was drafted as per the rules specified in GB/T 1.1-2009 Directives for Standardization
- Part 1.Structure and Drafting of Standards and GB/T 20000.2-2009 Guidelines for
Standardization - Part 2.Adoption of International Standards.
This Part replaced GB/T 16895.18-2002 Electrical Installations of Buildings - Part 5.Selection
and Erection of Electrical Equipment - Chapter 51.Common Rules.
Compared with GB/T 16895.18-2002, the major technical changes of this Part are as follows.
--- Add more detailed content on the characteristics of requirements for selection and
erection of electrical under conditions such as AD1~AD8 and AE4~AE6 in Table 51A
(see Table 51A of this Edition);
--- Add 516 Measures related to protective conductor current (see 516 of this Edition);
--- Delete the original Annex A, and its content is listed in the newly added bibliography
(see Bibliography of this Edition);
--- Add Annex A to Annex E (see Annex A to Annex E of this Edition).
This Part equivalently adopted IEC 60364-5-51 (5th Edition) Electrical Installations of
Buildings – Part 5-51.Selection and Erection of Electrical Equipment – Common Rules
(English Version). Compared with IEC 60364-5-51.2005 (5th Edition), this Part has the same
clause and article numbers and the same technical contents, but the following editorial changes
have been made.
--- Use the decimal point symbol “.” to replace “,” that is used as decimal point symbol;
--- Delete the “Foreword” of the IEC standard;

This Part deals with the selection of equipment and its erection.
