1 Scope

This Document specifies the classification and signing, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking, storage, and transportation of firestop materials. This Document applies to firestop materials or firestop subassemblies used in various through holes and structural gaps in industrial and civil buildings, structures, and facilities. This Document does not apply to fireproof expansion seals used inside building accessories and fireproof rings for rigid polyvinyl chloride building drainage pipes.

3 Terms and Definitions

For the purposes of this Document, the following terms and definitions apply. 3.1 Firestop material The material that has fireproof and smokeproof functions, and is used to seal or fill through holes, annular gaps and building gaps in buildings, structures, and various facilities; and that is easy to replace and meets relevant performance requirements. 3.2 Firestop subassembly A combined system that is composed of a variety of firestop materials and fire-resistant insulation materials to maintain the fire resistance of the structure and is easy to replace.

4 Classification and Signing

4.1 Classification 4.1.1 Firestop materials can be divided into three categories according to their uses. firestop materials for holes, firestop materials for gaps, and firestop materials for plastic pipes. 4.1.2 Firestop materials can be divided as follows according to the place of use. 4.1.3 Firestop materials are divided as follows according to the composition and shape characteristics of the products. 4.2 Signing The corresponding relationship between the names, codes and uses of various firestop materials is shown in Table 1.

5 Requirements

5.1 General provisions 5.1.1 No asbestos or other harmful substances to the human body shall be added to the plugging material. 5.1.2 For plugging products that are liquid during construction, the initial setting time range shall be clearly stated in the product instructions. After the plugging construction is completed, it can be dried and solidified under natural environmental conditions within the curing period specified by the product. 5.1.3 There is no irritating odor after the plugging material is completely dry. 5.2 Physical and chemical properties 5.2.2 The physical and chemical properties of gap plugging materials, fireproof sealants and flame-retardant tapes shall meet the requirements of Table 3. 5.3 Combustion performance 5.3.1 Except for Inorganic plugging materials, the combustion performance of other plugging materials shall meet the requirements of 5.3.2 and 5.3.3. 5.3.2 Fabrics used for fire-retardant bags shall meet the following requirements. 5.3.3 The combustion performance level of other firestop materials shall be no lower than the B2 level of building materials specified in GB 8624. 5.4 Smoke toxicity The smoke toxicity of firestop materials for important public buildings shall be no lower than the ZA2 level in GB/T 20285. 5.5 Air tightness The air tightness of firestop materials and firestop subassemblies for important public buildings shall be no greater than 3.5m3/(m2·h). 5.6 Fire resistance performance 5.6.1 The fire resistance performance of firestop materials is classified according to different fire environment conditions, whose codes are as shown in Table 4.According to the fire resistance integrity (expressed by E) time, it is divided into three levels. 5.6.2 The fire resistance performance of firestop materials shall comply with the provisions of Table 4. 5.7 Water flushing test performance For firestop materials or firestop subassemblies that require water flushing tests, water flushing tests shall be carried out after the fire resistance test.

6 Test Methods

6.1 Physical and chemical properties 6.1.1 Apparent density 6.1.1.1 Test conditions The density test shall be carried out at room temperature. 6.1.1.2 Test equipment The test equipment shall meet the following requirements. 6.1.1.3 Test procedure 6.1.2 Compressive strength 6.1.2.1 Preparation of specimens Pour the prepared Inorganic plugging materials into a test mold with a specification of 62.5mm×40mm×40mm; tamp and smooth it; and demold it after it is basically cured. The mixing and curing of the specimens shall be carried out according to the product instructions, and the number of specimens is 5. 6.1.2.2 Test device The test uses a pressure testing machine that complies with the provisions of GB/T 2611. 6.1.2.3 Test procedure Select any side of the test block as the pressure surface; and use a vernier caliper to measure the length and width of its pressure section, accurate to 1mm. 6.1.3 Bending strength The samples are processed into specimens with a size of 240mm×100mm; and the number of specimens is 5.For firestop materials with coated surfaces, the exposed sections shall be coated with the same surface material. 6.1.4 Corrosivity 6.1.4.1 Flame-retardant modules Respectively take two Q235 ordinary carbon structural steel pipes with a length of 250mm and an outer diameter of ϕ30mm ~ ϕ40mm and three PVC insulated sheathed cables with a length of 250mm and an outer diameter of ϕ30mm ~ ϕ40mm; drill holes with the same diameter as the steel pipes and cables on the firestop modules; and cut them in half. 6.1.5 Water resistance, oil resistance, acid resistance, alkali resistance, damp-heat resistance, freeze-thaw cycle resistance 6.1.5.1 Preparation of specimen Inorganic plugging materials, multi-component plugging materials, fireproof sealants. inject the prepared specimen into a standard test mold of 200mm×20mm×20mm; tamp and smooth it; demold it after it is basically solidified; and saw the specimen into three 20mm×20mm×20mm cube test blocks after the curing period. The mixing and curing of the specimen shall be carried out according to the product instructions. 6.1.5.2 Test procedure 6.1.5.2.1 Water resistance Soak the prepared and cured specimens in tap water at a temperature of 20℃±5℃; observe once every 24h; and take them out after the specified time. Observe whether the specimen is swollen or cracked; whether the body of the fire-retardant bag is intact, whether there is any damage; and whether there is any obvious change in the internal material. 6.2 Combustion performance 6.2.1 Flame-retardant bag The used fabric material shall be tested in accordance with GB/T 5455. 6.2.2 Other firestop materials except flame-retardant bag 6.2.2.1 Specimen The test sample shall be representative of the firestop material. According to the requirements of GB/T 8626, the sample shall be made or spliced into a 250mm×90mm test piece. The thickness of the test piece shall be the actual thickness of the product; and the maximum thickness shall not exceed 60mm. Otherwise, the sample shall be cut off on the back-fire side to make it 60mm thick. 6.3 Smoke toxicity The firestop materials for important public buildings shall be tested for smoke toxicity hazard levels according to the provisions of GB/T 20285; and the results shall meet the requirements of 5.4. 6.4 Airtightness The airtightness of firestop materials and firestop subassemblies for important public buildings shall be tested by the method specified in GB/T 7106; and the air permeability per unit area shall be used as the airtightness judgment index. The results shall meet the requirements of 5.5. 6.5 Fire resistance 6.5.1 Test device 6.5.1.1 Refractory test furnace Meet the requirements of GB/T 9978.1 for refractory test furnace. The refractory test furnace shall meet the requirements of test piece installation, heating conditions, pressure conditions, temperature testing and test observation, etc. 6.5.1.2 Temperature measuring equipment 6.5.2 Test conditions 6.5.2.1 Heating conditions When the heating conditions for building fiber fires are adopted, the temperature in the test furnace shall comply with the relevant provisions of GB/T 9978.1. When the heating conditions for electric fires are adopted, the temperature in the refractory test furnace shall comply with the relevant provisions of 5.1.1 in XF/T 714-2007. 6.5.4 Production of test piece 6.5.4.1 Overview 6.5.4.1.1 When making product quality judgments for firestop materials, the production of test pieces can choose the production method of standard test pieces specified in this Document. For test pieces used for actual engineering applications, the production of test pieces shall be consistent with actual use. 6.5.4.2.2 For Inorganic plugging materials, flame-retardant bags or flame-retardant modules, the firestop materials in Figure A.1 shall use one of the tested Inorganic plugging materials, flame-retardant bags, or flame-retardant modules. 6.5.4.3 Firestop materials for the gaps 6.5.4.3.1 The standard test pieces for firestop materials shall include concrete framework, fixed brackets, and structural gaps for firestop materials, etc. The test pieces shall include the maximum and minimum fixed gap width that is compatible with the performance of the firestop materials.

7 Inspection Rules

7.1 Classification of inspection 7.1.1 Exit-factory inspection Water resistance, oil resistance and alkali resistance specified in Clause 5 are exit-factory inspection items. 7.1.2 Type inspection 7.1.2.1 Physical and chemical properties, combustion performance, smoke toxicity, air tightness, fire resistance and flushing test technical indicators specified in Clause 5 are all type inspection items. 7.1.2.2 Products shall be subject to type inspection in any of the following circumstances. 7.2 Comprehensive judgment criteria When the fire resistance performance of the firestop materials reaches a certain level (1h, 2h, 3h) of the specified category (E, EI) under a certain fire environment, and other performance indicators meet the standard requirements, the product is deemed to be qualified for a certain level of quality under the fire environment. 7.3 Use of fire resistance test results The fire resistance test results can be directly applied to occasions with consistent fire test installation conditions and temperature rise conditions. For inconsistent occasions, the application of fire resistance test results is shown in Appendix D.

8 Packaging, Marking, Storage, and Transportation

8.1 The product shall be packaged in clean, dry, and sealable bags or containers and accompanied by a certificate of conformity and product instructions. 8.2 The product packaging shall indicate the manufacturer's name, address, product name, product trademark (when applicable), specification and model, production date or batch number, storage period, packaging dimensions (when applicable) or quality, etc. ......
